AI starts with “Awareness”. Announcing the first “Aware” video collaboration solution in the market

SilexPro is proud to announce that its Silex PTE Trio and PTE Quattro systems can have now an embedded intelligent “awareness” feature, allowing them to be aware of their surrounding and to automatically detect people sitting around them to take required actions accordingly. This widely opens the door to unleash smart AI features on these systems, making from the Silex PTE the first true intelligent collaboration system in the UC industry.
What makes any machine intelligent? Some may say it is the software. Others may say its intelligence is defined by how advanced and analytical its tasks are.
No matter what the answer is, there is one single point of entry to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and that is awareness. If your system is not aware first, it can never evolve to become an intelligent machine.
If a person cannot receive information by seeing, hearing smelling or feeling, how can this person ever process this information to make something out of it? The same applies for machines; if it cannot collect information first, then there is no way it will ever become an ‘intelligent’ device that processes an information or take an action based on the collected information.
Silex PTE systems are the first aware systems in the UC&C industry today. They are able now to recognize the face of a person sitting in front of any of the screens and to display that person’s information on the screen (for instance: name and job title). When participating in a video call, this feature would be a way to introduce automatically the persons sitting around the system by adding their names under their video.
The above feature is a small example of an infinite set of features that can be implemented on the Silex PTE “aware” systems.
